A 3-hour introductory session to Ceramics for Beginners! You will have fun having a go at the potters’ wheel and unleashing your creativity at hand-building. The perfect activity for a bonding session while you learn. You think three hours sounds long drawn, try it for yourself to see how fast it passes as well as the quality of time spent!
Session fee does not include the cost of firing but participants can choose to have any of their completed pieces fired and glazed @ $10.00/piece.

Been wanting to try out the Potter’s wheel and no time for our Pottery Do-It-All? Now is the chance to try out working on the Potter’s Wheel within a short 1.5 hours where you get to try centering on the wheel, coning up and down before pulling a piece of your own through these limited sessions!
The ideal brief experience of having a go at making your own tableware on the wheel and impress your peers and colleagues when you flaunt and use them!

Be introduced to the basic handbuilding techniques such as pinching and coiling in creating ornamental and functional pieces with different clay bodies. Discover textures, form, glaze application for yourself to see how glazes respond to different clay bodies. Practically nothing is impossible through the unique malleability of clay as a medium!

Join us for a full-day workshop to learn and experience slip casting—one of the fundamental and versatile ceramic techniques. During the hands-on workshop, we will work with slip, molds, and special tools for slip casting. You will also hear about Suku Park’s approach to ceramic art and his various clay techniques, as well as what it’s like to be an artist in today’s global society.
About Suku Park ✨
Suku Park, b 1947, a world renowned ceramic artist and chair of Hansaram, started his international career in Posio, Finland, and has since exhibited in multiple cities with his artwork featuring in various prominent art collections, such as the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and Musée Ariana in Geneva.
Suku Park’s philosophy for his work stem from art work not being planned and calculated – but forming an extension of the human mind, the human state and their emotions in clay. In a world of noise and distractions, Suku Park work represents a world of and for peace, quietude and focus.
Suku Park worked as a professor of ceramic art at Sangmyung University in Seoul from early 2000 and has since dedicated off-studio time to direct art symposiums in Posio with the Arctic Ceramic Center. He is also mentoring younger generation artists to find their place and pace in today’s world at symposiums and retreats. Suku Park is an emeritus member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), previously acted as a council member at IAC and is currently the chair of Hansaram.
Suku Park moved back to Lapland in Finland in early 2010s where he currently lives and works. He splits his studio time between Finland and Korea.

Come learn throwing on the wheel with us! Start your journey in vessel creation with an introduction to wheel-thrown pottery- learning centering, throwing, trimming and glazing techniques. Start from Basic Potters I and develop progressively towards our Basic Potters II and Intermediate Potters Wheel to acquire different levels of mastery on the wheel. All participant to be 18 years old and above.
Basic Potter’s Wheel sessions run weekly over 8 consecutive sessions at the same day/time and studio that you’re signing up for, so pick a day/time that works best for your schedule! Completion of the Basic Potters’ programme allows you the option to sign up for our OTOT package to continue practicing on the wheel at your Own Time, Own Target!
